In exploring Ruth Cohn’s second book, Deirdre addresses the need to help people become aware that they have a history of neglect. As Ruth points out, most people who grew up with neglect don’t know that something was wrong – and don’t have a story to explain why they are the way they are. The complication of that is it’s easy to minimize or deny any neglect which then becomes an intangible…and difficult to work with. Ruth describes some of the ways she’s found to work with neglect based on her 30+ years of clinical expertise.
