Ally Engagement and Enrichment Week

August 7 - August 11

AEEW Session #2 – The Body Keeps The Score with Dr. Bessel van der Kolk

The Body Keeps the Score: Trauma, Attachment and Neuroscience: Renowned trauma expert Bessel van der Kolk has spent over four decades working with survivors. Join him in this transformational lecture and leave with a new understanding of traumatic stress and ways for healing and transformation. Learn how trauma literally rearranges the brain’s wiring— specifically in functions dedicated to pleasure, engagement, control, and trust.

During our 8th AEEW (2023), we continue our forward motion with the theme Widening Our Lens. As we Widen Our Lens, we more readily recognize situations that encourage reinforcing behaviors which foster Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) in our daily interactions with others. The Diversity Cornerstone #1 states, “Diversity is about inclusion and engagement, leaving no one behind”, and shows us why it is important to Widen Our Lens.

As an annual opportunity, Ally Engagement & Enrichment Week strives to offer relevant and impactful programming that creates an inclusive culture where employees can listen more critically, have more thoughtful dialog, stand up for one another, and empower individuals to engage in respectful yet challenging conversations. All employees should be respected, accepted, included, valued, and have an opportunity to achieve their full potential in an equitable work environment. AEEW has been created to assist with equipping our workforce to be successful in these areas.

2023 Ally Engagement Week runs from August 7-11, and is free to participants. There are two sessions per day via Zoom: 11am-1pm ET, and 2:30pm-4:30pm ET, for a total of 10 sessions (registration is required). We look forward to you joining us!
